Obiettivi formativi

The main aim of the teaching is to guide the student to understand the basic concepts and principles of Physics and to acquire a critical attitude and a method which allows the student an effective cultural link with the other teachings of the Course of Degree.  The teaching aims also to develop the skill of the student in calculation in order to solve the problems.

Modalità di insegnamento

LEZIONE INTERATTIVA

http://web.mit.edu/tll/tll-library/teach-talk/active-learning-2.html

oppure

http://serc.carleton.edu/introgeo/interactive/

INTERACTIVE LECTURE

In the I PART of the course a first approach to an INTERACTIVE LECTURE is used, in order to improve the learning ability of the students and to give a feedback to the teacher.

The students are asked to work in small group of two-three-four people in order to encourage the "think-pair-share" during the proposed activities: answer to questions or solve brief exercises, read graphs or read features of images or simply favour "brainstorming".

More information about INTERACTIVE LECTURE can be fount in the web pages of MIT:

http://web.mit.edu/tll/tll-library/teach-talk/active-learning-2.html

or here:

http://serc.carleton.edu/introgeo/interactive/

This a first attempt to move to an INETRACTIVE TEACHING

In the II PART the Classic method with blackboard or Slides is used.

The teaching consists of 80 hours (10 CFU) of lectures, 20 hours of Exercise Practice and 20 hours of Tutoring. This 40 hours of Practice and Tutoring are intended to be a support activity to guide the student to follow the teaching and to train and prepare  the student to deal with the written examination.

The 80 hours (10 CFU) of lectures are divided into two partes: PART I 40 hours (5 CFU) and PART II 20 hours (5 CFU).

The examination consists in two written tests: one test for the PART I and one for the PART II of the teaching, both corresponding to 5 CFU.

During the semester the student can train himslef following the Exercise Practice and the Tutoring, to verify his/her level of preparation.

The test of PART I is at the end of the Semester (in February), the test of the PART II is at the end of the second Semester (in June).

The final mark corresponding to 10 CFU is calculated by the arithmetic mean between  the two markes of the single tests, provided that in each evaluation the mark is greater than 18/30. In case of examination passed with honours (30/30 e lode) 2 more points  are added to the mark (32) before the arithmetic mean.

The registration of the final mark will be done after both the two tests have been passed with success.

The mark of each test is valid for 1 year and half starting from the date of the test. During this period the student must pass the second test. If this is not the case he must pass again also the first written test.

When two tests of the same examination are included in the session, the student is allowed to give only one test. He can try both the tests, but if he delivers the test to the teacher he is not admitted to the second test in the session. If he evaluates his work is not sufficient and decides to withdraw from the examination he can be admitted to the second test.

The written test consists of exercises/problems and open questions of different difficulty.

At the end of the cycle of lectures, before the examination session is started, a typical text of the test is provided to the students, in order to show how it is organised.
